Dear Parents,
Enrichment week 2024 has been a week to remember! At NAIS Hong Kong we are passionate about providing students with learning opportunities beyond the classroom, empowering them to become global change-makers. It has been wonderful to witness our students' camaraderie, resilience, and commitment to personal development. They have embraced risks, demonstrated resilience, and served others.
Our final flights from Spain and Laos arrived Saturday night, and our dedicated staff have shown unwavering commitment, energising each other through shared experiences. My heartfelt thanks to the incredible NAIS Hong Kong teaching and support staff and to Mr. Shane Rogers and Mrs. Simone Reid for orchestrating this enriching week.
While the rest of the school participated in enrichment week, Year 13 and Year 11 students faced their mock examinations and rose to the challenge! Once they receive their exam results, it's essential to remember that this is merely a milestone, not the destination. There is plenty of time ahead to build on their progress and continue striving for success.
The secondary campus is buzzing with excitement as preparations for the festive season and the upcoming Christmas concert on 4th December are underway. We look forward to getting into the Christmas spirit and bringing the best showcase of musical talent to the stage, please remember to sign up below to reserve your seats.

Christmas Jumper Day
With the festive season upon us, make sure your child dusts off their Christmas jumper for Wednesday the 11th! We are looking forward to seeing their best festive attire on show – the ‘uglier’ the better and if they don't have one to hand, get creative with tinsel and baubles!
Year 11 Mock Exams - Ms Caroline Jennings
Over the past two weeks, our Year 11 students completed a full program of IGCSE mock exams. We are incredibly proud of their determination, positive attitudes, and resilience throughout this period.
These mock exams have provided a valuable learning opportunity for students, allowing them to reflect on their performance and develop the skills they need to succeed in their real exams this summer. In the upcoming tutor sessions, they will have the chance to discuss their experiences and ensure they take away important lessons from the process. We believe that this reflection will help boost their confidence as they prepare for the final exams.
Students will start to receive feedback from their individual subjects in lessons from this week, focusing on how to get from their attainment in the mocks to where they want to be in the summer exams. Once again, we commend our students for how well they have coped and conducted themselves during this time.
Year 13 Mock Exams - Mr Colin Spanos
From Monday 18th November to Wednesday 27th November our Year 13 students sat their IB Mock exams. The IB team would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to both our Year 13 students and their parents. The dedication from our students and support throughout this process from parents has been first class. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and perseverance of our Year 13 students.
The completion of these exams marks an important milestone in our students' educational journey in the preparation for the final IB exams in April and May 2025.
We look forward to receiving the individual IB subject results and feedback from our IB subject teachers shortly. This will provide further insight into areas of strength and for further development as we move into the final phase of Year 13.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support and commitment to the success of our Year 13 students.
IBDP Collaborative Science’s Project - Mr Ashley Jennings
Our Year 13 IBDP students spent the last two days of the week completing the Collaborative Sciences Project. Students worked in interdisciplinary groups to investigate a sustainable development goal within the context of school development. There was a great sense of community on the 6th floor as students collected and analysed data whilst researching and proposing solutions. The two days accumulated with an exhibition on the 6th floor where students shared their findings and proposals with different members of the school community. A massive well done to Year 13 for their efforts over the last two days, especially after one and a half weeks of mock exams!
Winter Uniform
On December 1st we changed from our summer uniform to winter uniform. From this date, the wearing of a tie and blazer is compulsory for Year 7 to Year 10 until the end of term 2. For this year only, Year 11 do not have to wear a school blazer if they do not wish.
The below image from the parent handbook summarises our uniform policy and the items students are expected to wear as part of the formal school uniform.
Please note, hoodies are not part of the formal school uniform and are only worn on PE days. As the school blazer is not compulsory for Y11, students are encouraged to wear the school cardigans or jumpers to keep warm. These items are available for purchase in the uniform shop.
Looking Ahead
Best regards,
Fiona Thorndike
