Celebrating Togetherness

Dear Parents,

The Spring Fair this weekend was a real highlight of the school calendar and no-doubt this event will be reflected in school updates this week, and rightly so!

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Spring Fair is so much more than a brilliantly organised event in which children and parents can take part in a range of different fun activities. The PTA have worked tirelessly alongside school facilities, communication and academic teams to ensure there was a shared sense of purpose.

The purpose was understanding that, collectively, we belong to something bigger than our individual family units and that there is strength in that when we need it. We are all part of a school community and share a responsibility to support our local community and charities, to give our children new and different experiences and bring this together in events such as the PTA Spring Fair.

But this purpose extends beyond an event, into the very rationale behind the PTA; a commitment to bring together school and home so that our children can continue to flourish as people. When we take a moment to reflect on the collective energy, good will and spirit of togetherness from our PTA Spring Fair, we can turn to the adage ‘it takes a village to raise a child’.

Indeed, knowing that events such as the Spring Fair are positive signs that our community has come together to celebrate its togetherness, are heartening. The home-school partnerships are the centre of this relationship and are a chance to embrace togetherness and belonging to NAIS Hong Kong. This is achieved by the hard work and dedication of our PTA and support from staff in facilities, marketing, academic, and IT teams.

In short, the community came together at the weekend and celebrated belonging to NAIS Hong Kong.

Year 6 Residential to Thailand

Today, we were excited that our Y6 children headed to Hong Kong International Airport to begin their unforgettable adventure in Thailand. I have shared much in bulletins about residential trips and experiential learning and look forward to talking more about this next week.

In the meantime, I would like to let all parents know that I waved off our Year 6 Thailand cohort this morning after check-in and sent some very excited children to explore new opportunities. I am sure they will return with a myriad of exciting tales to share.

I hope that you have a great weekend ahead,

Take care.
