Dear Parents,

Last week, our Nursery children had an exciting time learning about firefighters and marine police. They went on a walk to see the police boats, practised group safety, and stayed sun-safe with hats and sunscreen. The highlight was meeting real marine police officers and firefighters.

The week ended with Water Fun Day, where the children put their learning into action by “putting out fires” with reusable water balloons and collected rainwater—a splash-tastic day of fun and teamwork.

Wild Explorers for All Year Groups!

Get ready for an adventure like no other! Mrs. Mertz and Miss Lewsey have been hard at work transforming our Wild Explorers area into an enchanting outdoor classroom, and we can’t wait to embark on this new outdoor adventure.

We are thrilled to announce a wonderful addition to our whole school program. Starting this Friday, September 19th, we will be launching our Wild Explorers afternoonsessions. These sessions are crafted to deepen the children’s connection with the great outdoors and are thoughtfully tailored for each year group:

  • Nursery: Our youngest adventurers will dive into Wild Explorers activities during their play, fostering a love for nature from the very start.
  • Reception: The children will embark on 4-week blocks of adventures, throughout the year, where each session unveils new wonders and experiences.
  • Year 1: The children will embark on 6-week blocks of immersive outdoor learning, where they will engage deeply with the environment around them.

During these sessions, your child will have the thrilling opportunity to explore local flora and fauna, participate in hands-on activities like den building, and discover the magic of nature. Incorporating Forest School into our learning approach not only nurtures teamwork but also cultivates essential problem-solving skills while fostering confidence, resilience, and creativity for our students.

Our Wild Explorers sessions will primarily take place on campus, but we will also be visiting Lions Nature Education Centre to extend the adventure and exploration further afield! We will provide parents with advance notice for any off-campus sessions, so you know what is coming up.
