Early Years Campus Weekly Update 23 Feb 2026

Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome back! We hope you all enjoyed a joyful and restful Chinese New Year holiday. It has been wonderful to see the children return to campus today full of energy, stories, and big smiles. Before we dive into the weeks ahead, we would love to take a moment to reflect on the truly memorable celebration we shared together on Friday, 13th February, just before the break.

A Spectacular Chinese New Year Celebration

Our campus was absolutely buzzing as we welcomed families for a morning of tradition, festivity, and community spirit. The highlight for many was undoubtedly the Lion Dance, and what a tremendous sight it was! The children were captivated by the drums, the colours, and the lively movements of our visiting lion.

A special part of the Lion Dance tradition is the act of “touching” the lion, believed to bring good luck, courage, and blessings for the year ahead. It was heart-warming to watch so many children — and parents — bravely reach out to greet the lion and take part in this meaningful cultural moment.

We extend a huge thank you to our PTA for organising the performance and for their thoughtful gesture of gifting every child a red packet with a golden chocolate coin. The excitement on the children’s faces was priceless!

Performances That Made Us Proud

Following the Lion Dance, the morning continued with wonderful performances from each class. Our children took to the stage with confidence and joy, sharing:

  • Dances
  • Short Dramas
  • Kung fu demonstrations
  • Chinese poems and recitations

Every performance reflected the hard work and enthusiasm of our students, and they made us all incredibly proud.

We would like to offer a very special thank you to Lu Laoshi, whose dedication and planning brought the entire programme to life. From the stage performances to the cultural activities, she ensured that families could fully immerse themselves in the spirit of the festival.

Cultural Activities for All

Throughout the morning, families had the chance to enjoy a selection of hands-on, meaningful cultural experiences, including:

  • Traditional calligraphy
  • Fan making
  • Creating our very own mini–Lion Dance

The atmosphere was lively, creative and full of smiles as children and parents played side by side to honour this important festival.

Thank You, Families.

Our celebration was made truly special because of you. Thank you to all families who joined us, supported your children, and contributed to such a warm and memorable event. These shared moments are what make our community so special, and we are grateful to begin the new year surrounded by such positivity and partnership.
