FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

  • Can my child join the school at any time?

Yes! We accept applications all year round and your child can start at any time during the academic year.

  • Do you provide lunch?
Yes, our brilliant catering partner, Sodexo, prepares tasty, nutritious lunches every day. We offer a variety of local and international options, and cater for a range of dietary requirements and allergies. We also have a school nutritionist, who develops healthy eating plans for our students.
  • How will you help my child settle in?

We’re known for our warm and welcoming community, which is like a family. We’ll send you lots of useful information before your child’s first day and put you in touch with one of our current families.

In their first week, your child will be allocated a ‘buddy’, who will show them the ropes and make them feel at home. We also have a dedicated pastoral care team that ensures every child is comfortable and cared for.

  • Where do your families live? And do you run a bus service?

Our families predominately live in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Makati, Alabang, and Quezon City. We provide a safe and reliable bus service to each of these areas, as well as to residential communities across Metro Manila. Get in touch with us for a full list of routes.

  • How can I get involved in school life?

There are lots of ways to get involved in our community. Our welcoming Barkada Group, run by parents, is open to everyone – and they’re always on the lookout for new members! They organise fun events, like our Christmas and Summer Fairs, and help families settle into our school and city.

You can also join us for parent-student workshops in subjects like drama and STEAM, where you’ll learn alongside your child. And at our ‘open class’ events, you’ll experience our personalised approach to learning in action.

  • How do you communicate with parents?

We’ll keep in touch with you in all sorts of ways. Through our Parent Portal and school app, teachers will share regular feedback and progress updates. You’ll also be invited to parent-teacher meetings and monthly coffee mornings with our Principal.

  • Will my child need to take a test before they enrol?

We’ll invite your child to sit an English language assessment as part of our admissions process. We do this to ensure they can fully access our curriculum, which is taught in English, and immerse themselves in day-to-day life on campus.

  • Do you offer taster sessions?
Yes, we do. Your child is very welcome to come and spend the day with us, where they’ll get a feel for what it’s like to learn here. Please get in touch with our admissions team to find out more.
  • What curriculum do you teach?

We teach the English National Curriculum from nursery through to sixth form. This comprises:

    • Early Years (ages 2-5): Early Years Foundation Stage.
    • Primary (ages 5-11): English National Curriculum.
    • Key Stage 3 (ages 11-14): English National Curriculum.
    • Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16): IGCSEs.
    • Sixth Form (ages 16-18): A-levels.
  • What’s included in your fees?
Your child’s fees include school materials, most of our extra-curricular activities, and secondary exams.
  • What qualifications do your teachers have?

Our teachers are all UK-qualified (or equivalent) and have extensive experience in British and international schools. More than half also have Nord Anglia leadership qualifications. They bring an in-depth knowledge of the English National Curriculum to our classrooms, and are experts at personalising learning to individual preferences, strengths, and needs.

Our teachers are ambitious learners, too. We offer outstanding opportunities for them to develop and grow, supported by accreditation from the best training organisations. This guarantees your child will receive the highest quality instruction.

  • Do you offer students additional support?

We offer English as an Additional Language (EAL) support for students who need extra help with their speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing. In an English-speaking environment, our children learn incredibly quickly.

We also have a fantastic Learning Support Department, which creates tailored programmes for students who have special educational needs.

  • What after-school activities do you offer?

Our enrichment activities offer something for everyone, ensuring your child has the chance to do what they love and try new things. From Taekwondo and ballet to computer game design and mindfulness, we offer an ever-changing roster of activities that encourage our students to showcase their talents and pursue new passions.

At NAIS Manila, enrichment activities are compulsory. Your child will choose two clubs per term, which provide a balance between active/sport and intellectual/creative.

  • What trips and excursions do you run?

Our students broaden their horizons on local, national, and international adventures – including Nord Anglia expeditions to Tanzania and Switzerland – where they form lifelong friendships, grow in confidence, and develop a global perspective. Day trips in and around Manila teach our children about Filipino culture and history, and provide opportunities to explore our unique natural environment.
