During Enrichment Week, our Year 8 and 9 students embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Huangshan, filled with discovery, teamwork, and service learning.
From the moment they arrived, students embraced every opportunity: exploring the traditional Hui-style architecture of Tangmo Village, taking part in a local school exchange that built cross-cultural friendships, and learning the ancient art of tea-picking in the rolling hills of Anhui.

They also rolled up their sleeves for a community restoration project at Shenlin Folk Museum, helping to preserve a historic site while learning about sustainability and local heritage. Evenings were full of reflection and fun, including a MasterChef-style cooking challenge, a barbecue and bonfire under the stars, and a peaceful hike through Qiyun Mountain’s countryside.

Each activity was designed to connect with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), from Quality Education and Responsible Consumption to Sustainable Cities and Communities, helping students link their experiences to global citizenship and the wider world.

The week concluded with new friendships, a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture, and a stronger sense of how small actions can make a lasting difference.
