As a Middle School Spanish teacher, one of the things I love most about teaching a foreign language is the incredible journey of discovery it creates, for both my students and me. Teaching Spanish is more than just vocabulary and grammar; it is about opening doors to new cultures, perspectives, and ways of thinking.
My favorite moments are when students begin to connect what we're learning in class to their own lives; when a vocabulary word reminds them of a family trip, or when a cultural tradition we discuss sparks a memory or curiosity. It's in those "aha" moments that you can see the learning truly take root. Their faces light up with surprise and genuine understanding, and you know they’re not just memorizing words; they're gaining a skill that will serve them for life.
