• Which Nord Anglia international school in Shanghai is right for my child?

  Each of our international schools in Shanghai offers something slightly different. To find the best fit for your family, it's important to check our eligibility criteria, the age groups we teach, and the curricula on offer.

  Nationality and eligibility

  The type of passport your child holds will determine which school they're eligible for.

  • International schools (BISS Puxi and NAIS Pudong): Open to anyone holding an international passport (non-Chinese).
  • Bilingual schools (NACIS): Open to both Chinese nationals and international passport holders.

   

  If your child qualifies for both, the next step is to consider which curriculum best suits their needs.

  Curricula and teaching

  • Our international schools offer British and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes.
  • Our bilingual school teaches the Chinese national curriculum, which is blended with teaching philosophies and resources that are respected around the world.

   

  While Mandarin and English are taught in both types of school, our bilingual schools offer full dual language teaching.    

• What curricula do you teach at your Shanghai international schools?

  All three of our international schools in Shanghai offer highly respected curricula, which are recognised around the world.

  • BISS Puxi (ages 2-18) teaches the English National Curriculum in the Early Years, Primary, and Lower Secondary, culminating in the two-year IGCSE programme. Students then study for the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma from 16-18.
  • NAIS Pudong (ages 2-18) also offers the English National Curriculum at Early Years, Primary, Secondary and IGCSE level, followed by the IB Diploma.
  • NACIS (ages 6-18) teaches the Chinese National Curriculum from Elementary through to Junior High School. Students then have the option of studying for the IB Diploma or A-Levels.
