On Friday, 27th November, Mrs Leanne, our Literacy Coordinator, ran a KS2 parent workshop entitled, 'Instilling a Love of Reading at Home'. This workshop provided lots of ideas to help parents promote and encourage reading at home and explained how to use effective questioning.

Each parent received a very useful booklet at the end, which was filled with information, ideas and useful websites. There were also recommended reading lists for each year, which are accessible to everyone through the Parent Handbook section of the Parent Portal.

The feedback from the parents who attended was very positive and gave them an insight into the level of reading that takes place in school and how they can replicate elements of this at home. As reading is always a hot topic of conversation and many parents are always asking how to get their children to read more at home, we will run the workshop again later in the academic year.
