Blood Donation Clinic

Last Wednesday we saw our second Blood Donation Clinic here at St Andrews. We decided to add an extra element to it this time around and give house points to all the parents who came to donate so whichever house their children were in received a house point. It was a great effort by our parents and the results are below.

1st Place – Karen (15 points)
2nd Place – Akha (10 points)
3rd Place – Lahu (7 points)
4th Place – Yao (5 points)

Meme Competition – Sustainability Week

Last week was sustainability week and the house team organized a meme competition across the High School. This went down really well with the students and the memes were coming in fast. Each morning the top three memes were shown to the students and a winner was chosen. The winning memes from each day were put into the final last Friday and the winner is below. Each student who entered will receive a house point for their house and the winner has received an extra 10 house points. Well done to Valentin in Y8 for his winning meme overall and has achieved an extra 10 house points for Lahu.

Lahu – 18
Yao – 10
Karen – 10
Akha - 5

Community Friday

On Friday we resumed our Friday events but with a different name. We now call it ‘Community Friday’. We saw the High School staff participate in the Staff House Competition where two staff members from each house went head to head in the performance of the year. The winning teachers were chosen through the loudest cheer which was interesting and very loud. Lahu were the winners! In Primary we saw those playing Musical Hoops on the field. It was a tough battle but Ahaka won will great determination. The winners from these games will go into the final in two weeks’ time.

KS2 Vertical Garden Competition

Currently our KS2 students are participating in a house competition to create a vertical garden. KS2 will build and create a vertical garden where they will create a garden and grow plants but they will create it using all recycled materials instead of plant pots. Students will submit a plan of how they would like it to look and the more creative the better. All entries will be submitted by Friday and a winner will be announced. Every student that takes part will receive a house point and the overall winner will receive 20 house points for their house. Good luck KS2.
