U15 FOBISIA Games, Beijing

Last week, our U15 team returned from a great Games in Beijing. Despite very cold conditions, they excelled across all four sports, becoming Athletics, Swimming and Boys and Girls Basketball champions. This the first time we have won four FOBISIA titles at one Games, and the first time we have won a double in either Football or Basketball.

Well done to our students who have trained with great commitment and ambition, and who performed so graciously and with such team spirit. We are very impressed.

Next up: the U13 FOBISIA Games, here at STA in March 2017!

NIST Falcon Extreme 2016

Over the weekend (Sunday, 20th November), our Marlins participated in the NIST Falcon Extreme Swim Meet 2016. The Marlins had a chance to show everyone our strength and passion to swim fast. As a result, we collected more medals, ribbons and trophies than ever before.

We placed 2nd in the highest points average score.

Individual trophies:

  • 1st placed for 9 years old (boys and girls) 1 Gorn 5G and Honoka 4L

  • 2nd placed for 9 years old (girls) - Opal 5S

  • 3rd placed for 10 years old (girls) - Naraya 6L

  • 3rd placed for 13 years old (girls) - Mew 9A

  • 3rd placed for 14 years old (boys) - Dee 10P

On behalf of the Swim Department, I would like to say thank you very much for everyone's support - it’s so valuable.  See you soon all at the STA Swim Championships on 10th December!

Harrow Bangkok Cup Football Tournament

Well done to all the Flames footballers who participated in the Harrow Bangkok Cup.  Each year, our teams are getting stronger and the style of football we play is easily recognizable compared to the other teams. This is down to the hard work and enthusiasm of our coaches and players on a weekly basis. The children were impressive as always and worked hard for each other throughout the long day of football.

The U11 boys won their final with two quick goals and some brilliant team football. The U13 girls reached the final playing the best level of football in their tournament and remained unbeaten, only losing on penalties. The U13 boys finished 3rd while the U9 boys and U11 girls finished 4th playing against some very strong competition. Thank you to all the parents that came and supported the STA children.

Phuket Soccer 7s (24th-27th November)

The U9 boys, U11 boys, SNR boys and U13 girls/boys travel to Phuket on Thursday for the biggest football tournament of the year. Best of luck to all the teams involved.

Primary Nord Anglia Games (25th-28th November)

We have the very first NAE Games next weekend with our Primary children competing in a two day tournament of Basketball and Teeball at Regents International School, Pattaya. The children have been training hard and are looking forward to the 2 days of competition.
