Tribute Ceremony Assemblies

Last week St. Andrews International School held Tribute Ceremony Assemblies for the late HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej. His Majesty’s compassion and virtues were shared through various activities including a tribute speech by Mr. Paul, a Thai poem written and read by the Thai department and an English poem by a Year 13 student. Additionally, the assemblies reflected on a video highlighting His Majesty’s dedicated work and a short video summarising the school’s activities in tribute to His Majesty.

Srivikorn Campus Construction Update

Our new High School campus is now under construction.  The appointed building contractor, RITTA, has moved all its offices and machinery into the site and has been working hard now on two of the main buildings for two weeks. The first stage is more demolition with an old swimming pool to be removed from the top of one building so we can construct the double gym.  This is well on the way to completion.  Second demolition is on building C which will be the technology, art and sciences block with the canteen on the ground floor.  An old stairway has had to be removed so that we can construct a new main staircase to access the floors.  It is great to see the buildings really start to change so that we can ensure we meet the timeline for completion.

Sustainability Week

After several weeks of planning, this week we shall have a Sustainability Week.  This will focus on ways we can change our practices and procedures in school so that we operate with a better focus on ensuring our activities consider how they could further cause or continue to damage our environment.  It is hoped we shall continue this work throughout the year so that the changes we make this week are taken on board and continued with so that they do make a real difference.  There are several proposals for recycling which was discussed at the PTG and these activities will be interesting developments if we can introduce them and have them as a greater part of how the school operates across many areas.
