Parent Teacher Group: 07 November 2016

07 November 2016

This week is Sustainability Week at school, with various events in High School as well as Primary.  These include projects on learning how to grow food, minimising waste and recycling.  In Primary School, students will raise funds to support an endangered bird, the Spoon-billed Sandpiper, and take part in a house contest to design a vertical garden.  In High School, students are being encourage to create the dankest memes they can to promote sustainability. The top five daily memes will be posted on Moodle.

Sustainability is an important issue and one of great interest to many, many parents. Please support your children in the different initiatives in school this week and help these ideas carry on in the future.

Thank you to Ellah from Year 13 who came to the PTG meeting last Wednesday and gave us an excellent overview of the preparations that are underway for TEDx Youth 2016 which will be held on 20 November 2016.  Our senior students have put a great deal of work into organising this very interesting event.  Tickets are available at the School Office.

A quick reminder that Lost and Found items will be sorted and left for collection in the PTG Room.  If you have lost anything, please go to the PTG Room and look for it.  Boxes are clearly labelled to help you in your search.  All items that come into school should be clearly labelled with the student’s name.  This will very much help us make sure that the maximum number of items can be returned to their owners.

As always, we are here to help in any way we can.  If you have questions, concerns or ideas on how to improve our STA community, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.  Most members of the PTG committee are in school either in the mornings or afternoons or you can reach us by e-mail on PTGChair@standrews.ac.th  We look forward to hearing from you and to having as many people as possible involved in our community.
