High School House/CAS/Service: Singing in tongues

Find out about the first big event linked to St Andrews International School Bangkok’s charity Central Thailand Mission… A review of last week’s House Language Competition.

High School House

Last week we wrote to you about our first big event linked to our school charity Central Thailand Mission. The event will take place on Sunday 10 December at High School where 150 children, service users, carers and volunteers will come to STA for an afternoon of fun. Our students will take a lead role in the afternoon by running games & entertainment and generally getting to know the children involved in these projects. We are also looking for some parent volunteers to come in and help out on the day, as well as to donate any type of raffle prizes or food for the day. If this is something you could help out with, please contact me at jason.wh@standrews.ac.th .

Languages Subject House Competition

Last week the Language Department ran their subject House event which was a huge success. Registration set the tone for the day with a short quiz that was completed by students.

During break time every language subject delivered a short linguistic activity in the canteen, such as calligraphy, tongue twisters, even a game of Pétanque!

At lunchtime the students participated in a Foreign Language Karaoke (singing & poetry) Competition. English or first languages were not allowed for participants.

Then going into Period 1 & 2 the students did activities for Year 9 (options) that took place in lessons.

Have a look in the languages section for more information and who won the various competitions.
