Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1: Christmas, Christmas and more Christmas

We are on the final straight at St Andrews International School Bangkok. If you listen very carefully you can just hear the sound of sleigh bells in the distance …

Last week things really did start to get festive at St Andrews International School Bangkok.  On Monday evening Santa sent in some of his elves to lend a hand with the 5 metre Christmas tree that was delivered earlier in the day.  They worked hard, but anyone seeing the quad this week will have appreciated their efforts.

Friends from the PTG made sure that the walkways also got a bit of Christmas cheer and the other, smaller Christmas trees were all decorated and in place.

On Wednesday and Thursday we were entertained by Year 2 and their performance of “Little Lost Kitten”.

This is the first time that Year 2 have had to carry the Christmas Show by themselves without the help of the Year 1 children, but they did a brilliant job!

There were some top class speakers and the acting and singing was excellent.  The musicians were exceptionally talented.

Following the early morning carols, Friday brought more highlights to the week with the Early Years and Reception both bringing their talents to the stage.

Tuesday 12th brought the final Christmas experience, with the Y1 children showing off their singing talents under the Christmas Tree.  All of the photographs will be shared with you via Facebook soon.

Mercy Centre Gift Collection

A big thank-you to everyone who has brought in a Christmas gift for the EYFS and KS1 collection for the Mercy Centre.  Every year we are amazed by your generosity.  At the end of our final Christmas Show (Year 1 Christmas Picnic Tuesday 12th December @ 8am) we will continue our tradition and load up a couple of minibuses of gifts to be delivered to the children of the Khlong Toey Community.

If you haven’t yet donated but would like to, here is how to do so.

Gifts should have a value of no more than 300-400 baht. The gifts should be wrapped for Christmas and labelled with BOY or GIRL as well as the age for which it is suitable. We also ask that it is not a toy that needs batteries as often children cannot afford new batteries.

Gifts taken to your child’s class will go to the Mercy Centre.  Gifts left in the office will go to the KS2 collection for the Bangkok Refugee Centre - an equally worthy cause.

Thank you in anticipation as we know you and your family will support this worthy cause.
