High School: 3 April 2017

St Andrews Year 7 writers collaborated with their Year 2 counterparts as they research the reading preferences of their target audience… Get ready for Songkran celebrations on campus this Wednesday!

We are a family, welcoming new members and supporting each other.

Our Year 7 students have been spending time in their English lessons planning and writing children’s picture books. During the Primary School’s recent Book Week they spent time in the school’s library, looking at books by a range of different children’s authors and talking to Ms Astrid, and then last week they visited Year 2 to talk to the experts. As you can see from the photos, both sets of students had a really interesting “market research” session, with the Year 7 students coming back to their next English lesson inspired by their potential readers.

Ms Emma, the Key Stage 3 English Coordinator, will be writing more about this project in the Newsletter next term, but I thought that this was a lovely example of the St Andrews family working together - something that will be just as important to us all, even if we are a little further away, next year.

On Wednesday this week, we end Term 2 for the students, with our traditional Alms Offering and Songkran Assembly in the morning and then our last Sukhumvit 71 Water Play in the afternoon.

I hope that you all have a great Songkran Holiday, and look forward to seeing everyone back  at school on Monday 24th April for the beginning of a very busy Term 3!
