Food for Thought

As we get closer to the end of this school year, our minds are already looking forward to the next academic year. The move to a split campus is an exciting time for St Andrews and for us in the Primary School, who will be remaining here on the Sukhumvit 71 campus, it’s a time for looking at the new spaces that will be available to us. One aspect of having just primary that we are next to look at is the food options provided by the canteen at lunchtime and during snack time. The canteen spaces will be shared between EYFS, KS1 & KS2 so the menu needs to reflect those students’ tastes.

We will be organising a committee of students, one from each class, to get together to discuss menu options. They will feedback on behalf of their class, meeting with the chef to help to design a new menu. This will begin with a school food survey, which will be sent to all students email accounts this week. The students on the committee will the analyse the data collected and present this to the chef.

Year 3 Assembly

This Friday it is our Year 3 class assembly. This will be Ancient Greek themed, highlighting some of the things that the students have been learning this term about this ancient civilisation. All parents are invited to come along and enjoy the show. This will take place in the Drama Studio at 8am.

Primary FOBISIA Games

Well done to our KS2 FOBISIA teams who competed over the weekend in the regional Primary FOBISIA games at Regents Pattaya. This event was another huge success as the team proved to highly competitive, dominating a number of the events that they took part in. Not only did they excel in their sporting prowess, showing excellent individual skills and working together well as a team, but they also proved to be fantastic ambassadors for the school and their families with their impeccable behaviour and their respect for each other and other competitors.

Fashion Show

Everyone should have received a letter from the High School Sustainability Group this week, with a template on the reverse for designing a costume for our upcoming fashion show - organised by a group of our older students.

On Friday the 9th June 2017 (12.30 pm - 1.15 pm), St. Andrews will hold the annual STA Fashion Show. It is a house competition to showcase students skills in both fashion design and modelling. They will need to design and make their own outfit.

Last Friday in Assembly the children found out all about the competition from the High School Organisers. Children now have until Thursday 25th to submit a design to their class teacher and on Friday 26th the finalists will be informed.  Only the finalists will need to make their costumes at home for the parade.
