Year 5 Roman Day

Last Thursday the Year 5 students were transported back to Ancient Rome to experience life like the citizens of Ancient Rome. There was a real buzz among the students as the arrived in their Roman costumes for the day- gladiators, noblemen and women, slaves and maybe the odd emperor or empress too. The students got to try their hand at some Roman themed recipes- honey cakes, bruschetta, pizza, Italian salad and baked Dormice (don’t worry, no animals were harmed- they were made from icing sugar). Each group took on a different dish, but they got to sample all of the food at their Roman banquet. This was followed by some Roman themed craft activities as they designed and made the components to make up a centurions uniform. These items will be used later this term in the Year 5 assembly- Friday 2nd June.

Well done to all of the Year 5 teachers and LSs for putting on such a fun filled day for all of the students.

Year 4 Music Concert

On Tuesday this week it’s the turn of the Year 4 students to host their music concert. This will take place in the Drama Studio and starts at 4pm. Parents are invited to attend and celebrate the children’s work in music.

Prior to the concert, the students will be supervised by their class teachers. Snacks and drinks will be provided for them.

Y6 Sats

It’s that time of year again when our Year 6 students are embarking on their end of Key Stage tests. This week the students will be completing some practice papers, before they start the final tests later this month. These tests are the culmination of all of the hard work that the students have put in during their time so far at St Andrews. We would all like to say, “Try your hardest, do your best, stay calm and enjoy your remaining time in the Primary School.”

Holiday on Wednesday

Don’t forget that school is closed this Wednesday.

Reminder: Intentions for Next Academic Year

We are still waiting for some families to get back to us to let us know whether they will be returning in August to spend another year at St Andrews. We will be emailing them all at the end of this week, but until then, if you haven’t yet responded and would like to do so, please either contact the School Office directly (Khun Nisa, Khun Jeep or Mr Roy) or click on this link to enter this information via Google Form.
