As usual, there are many things going on in the High School this week. We will be saying farewell to many important members of our community: Staff, students, and families who have been integral parts of our St Andrews community… This week we also have House sports competitions, Year 6 Transition Day, Parents’ Information Sessions, the High School Awards Assembly, and the House Music Competition… Please remember that the term ends at 1:00pm on Friday… At Friday’s High School Assembly, we will be looking at the many fantastic opportunities for trips abroad in the coming school year.

It’s the last week of the school year, and our last week on the Sukhumvit 71 Campus. At the end of this week we say goodbye to a number of High School teachers and LSAs, and I would like to thank Ms Claire C, Ms Clare, Mr Daniel, Ms Faye, Mr Harry, Ms Hayley, Ms Isabelle, Ms Jaime, Mr Joe, Ms Liane, Ms Lucy, Ms Melissa, Khun Myo, Khun Nook, Khun Nui, Mr Richard B and Mr Simon L for all that they have done in their time at St Andrews and wish them all the best for their futures.

Like every other week this year, this is another busy one, with the House Basketball, Football and Futsal Competitions taking place today, Year 6 Transition Day tomorrow, followed by two Parents' Information Sessions and then the High School Awards Assembly and House Music Competition on Thursday, before the last day of term on Friday.

Please remember that the term ends at 1:00pm on Friday - especially important this year when the redevelopment of this campus into the new Primary Campus begins later that afternoon.

I would like to also wish any leaving High School students, and their families, all the best for their futures and I hope that everyone else has an extremely enjoyable and relaxing holiday and returns to school in August full of energy and anticipation for the excitement of our first year at the new High School Campus.

In Friday’s High School Assembly we will launch next year’s Tanzania Expedition and Ski Trip, both taking place close to the February half-term.

Nord Anglia Education’s Global Classroom is offering an amazing opportunity for students in St. Andrews to be able to take part in an expedition to Tanzania. This expedition, planned for 27th February to the 6th of March 2018, will give our students the chance to discover new cultures, meet new people, explore new places and make a difference to the lives of others. This expedition comes after a very successful excursion to Tanzania in February 2017, where, teachers and students from St. Andrews and other Nord Anglia schools all over the world participated in a range of community and school development projects, as well as an exciting safari in Tarangire National Park. Last year’s enthusiastic participants will be coming to visit the current Year 9 students later this week to share their enthusiasm and experiences. We will run this expedition with a total of thirty students from Years 10 and 12, with a provisional costing of 45,500 THB. If you are interested in your son/daughter participating, please e-mail Ms Lisa - lisa.me@standrews.ac.th

In February this year we took 20 students to Austria where they learned how to ski with professional instructors throughout the week. The experience students gained was absolutely fantastic, with students becoming intermediate skiers by the end of the week. Every student progressed so much throughout the week not just with the skiing but with being independent, persevering, confidence, working together as a team and their positive mindset. We will be running another trip to Austria from Friday 23rd February to Saturday 3rd March next year. If you would like your son/daughter to participate then please either ask them to collect a letter from Mr Jason or email him - jason.wh@standrews.ac.th
