This Week @ St. Andrews: 2017 GCSE Art Exhibition

We are proud and excited to announce the opening of the 2017 GCSE Art Exhibition at St. Andrews International School Bangkok. The exhibition begins today, Wednesday, 7 June, and continues through Friday. Located in the Dance Studio, the exhibition is an impressive visual array of student works that demonstrate the learning and growth that the Year 11 students have achieved this school year. One purpose of the exhibition is for an official moderator from the UK to come to St. Andrews and examine the students’ work, and give a score for the GCSE qualification. For this, the students have worked diligently to maximise and achieve their full potential.

“This year has been a journey to develop an understanding of what it means to be a young artist in a global context” GCSE Art Teacher, Mr. Tim

Another important part of the exhibition is to bring together the St. Andrews community to celebrate the efforts and achievements of these Year 11 students. “This year has been a journey to develop an understanding of what it means to be a young artist in a global context,” said their art teacher, Mr. Tim. “Moreover, an important knock-on effect of the course is learning about developing ideas, and creative problem solving.” These crucial concepts can be transferred and applied to all parts of life, Mr. Tim added.

All students and families of the St. Andrews community are encouraged to come to the Dance Studio Wednesday 3:30-5:30, as well as Thursday and Friday during normal school hours. The exhibition will come to a close on Friday at 3 pm. Refreshments will be served.
