House: First order of business

HS House Leaders will create a new mascot for each House. Don’t worry, you’ll have a chance to vote for your favorite. Primary House Leaders look to design a logo for House Team cards.

High School

Last week saw the reveal of the NEW KS5 House Leaders and KS3/4 House Captains for the year 2017-2018. We asked the students to nominate other students they felt would make a good House Leader/Captain and explain why. The response we had was overwhelming and it was great to see all the amazing things that the students said about their peers. We also set a task for the students to create a new House mascot for their House. These will all be reviewed by the House Team this week and then have a House vote on which one should be the winner. Keep a lookout in the next few weeks for your new House mascot.

House Captains

Our Year 6 students have a very important role within the House Team. They are buddies for our youngest (Y1) House Representatives and will be an integral part of the success of House Assemblies and Events. Here is what some of the House Captains had to say about their newly appointed role:

I really wanted to become one of the Yao House Captains and I felt really happy and proud when they told me I had been chosen. I am looking forward to helping my house in the different things we do. Hector 6G - Yao
I was really nervous during the voting, because it was a tie between me and Edda. It is a shame that we could not have had another person, because both of us would have been great House Captains. May May 6T - Karen
I am really happy that I am one of the House Captains for Lahu this year. I am looking forward to doing House competitions and supporting my team. Nick 6T - Lahu
I am very glad that I was chosen to be a House Captain and I thank the Akha children for voting for me. I will always try my best to support and lead my house. Kalisha 6L - Akha

The House Leaders look forward to a fun filled year working together to make this House Team the best one yet!
