On Friday 19 January we take over the field and surrounding area with fun games and activities, showing off our abilities in ball skills, running, cycling, climbing, balancing, throwing and group games. Parents should come prepared to join in with the fun games and experience first hand the activities we provide to develop the children's physical skills. We promise a rewarding experience for all.
Year 1 begin their brand new topic “Pets”, which is launched this week with a visit from two veterinary nurses from Thong Lo Pet Hospital. The children will find out about habitats and caring for different types of animals.
3D Art and sculpture is also featured along with the introduction of the new maths homework games that have previously proved so popular.
In Year 2, Term 2 is set to be a ‘super’ one. The topic Superheroes will see the children explore and apply different characteristics of superheroes such as bravery and determination. They will also have a visit from some real life superheroes - The Thai Fire Department will visit us at St Andrews International School Bangkok and the children will have the opportunity to ask the fire-fighters questions and see how a fire truck works.
In Reception, the teachers are excited about the writing workshops that they have planned for the new term. The children are already enthusiastic to show everyone their literary talents, but the new things in store are sure to make them even more confident and excited to write.
Fun Day is of course coming up very soon on Saturday 3 February. New families especially must be sure to put this important date in their diaries. For Primary children especially it is one of the main highlights of the school year. More details will come out in due course so be sure to check the PTG section of the Newsletter each week. It is a fantastic day for all the family.
Also on the horizon is Primary Book Week. Friday 23 March is another date for the diary as this is the day of the Book Character Parade, so talk to your children about the book characters they might want to represent in the big parade. How many characters can you recognise from previous Book Weeks?
