Head’s Lines: Incredible, international STA

International Day at the Primary School was a huge success and magnificent celebration of our rich international community...The end of the first half of Term 1 is this Friday… The school calendar for next year is already available.

What a fantastic International Day we had at our Primary Campus last Friday! Everyone arrived in their national costume or clothes representing their country. There was a real excitement around the school with all the corridors decorated with flags and our Year 6 Quad looking brilliant with huge flags around the first floor fence and the large LED screen setup for the breaktime performances.

The International Assemblies started the day. First, our Year 1 to Year 3 children and parents enjoyed the flag parade with 44 national flags, the mini singers, dances and STA Bang. The second assembly for Year 4 to Year 6 was equally impressive thanks to all the great performances by all who took part.

This led easily into break time which featured five cultural performances from different countries on a stage featuring a large LED screen. These performances were truly a sight to behold, and really mesmerised and energised the crowd of children and parents in attendance.

Our parent-led country teams working with our own Estates Department did an excellent job setting up the International Food Hall which showcased the brilliant tastes, scents and sights from all around the world. Parents and children really enjoyed this extended lunch, getting to know each other better and especially enjoying the richness of our international school community.

A special thanks to all the PTG, country representatives and parents who got involved and came to enjoy a really special International Day at our Primary School.

School Calendar 2019-2020

The school calendar showing our term dates and holidays throughout the year has now been approved. This is available on the school website and can be seen by following this link.

End of the first half term

We look forward to a final busy four days of the last week of this half term.  International Day at High School will be held on the last day of half term 1 on Friday 19 October. I expect this will be as great as an event with the same excitement, colours and international food from our school community as was enjoyed last Friday at the Primary Campus.

I hope everyone has a relaxing and safe half term holiday. I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and re-invigorated for the start of the second half of Term 1 on Monday 29 October.
