PTG AGM

PTG: First PTG Update released

The PTG Committee is pleased to announce a new way of communicating with the wider parent community and has released the first of its regular PTG Updates. In this first issue, find out about who the PTG is and what the PTG does.

PTG Update No.1/ 8 October 2018

Starting in October 2018, the PTG is launching an additional regular update spotlighting a PTG activity or a particular issue that the PTG has tackled or helped to resolve. The new PTG Update will complement the PTG section of the STA Newsletter. It will be placed on the notice boards at school, on the PTG Facebook page, and in the PTG section on Moodle.

In this first PTG Update, we would like to introduce the PTG 2018-19

First of all, the PTG is you– the entire parent and teacher community. You are automatically a member as soon as you join the school. The aim of the PTG is to work together for the common good of our student body, and to foster goodwill and clear communication among parents, teachers, and students. The PTG is managed and represented by the PTG Committee, which is elected at the start of every school year at the AGM. At this year’s AGM the Committee was expanded by two members, justified by the rise in student numbers, and now comprises three Officers (Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary) and ten other members.

The PTG Committee is a group of volunteers that works hard to make crucial events happen throughout the school year, including the International Days and Christmas Fairs on both campuses, Fun Day, and the end-of-year Summer Party. But we are not just ParTyorGanizers! The PTG supports charity fundraising efforts by students, for example by contributing the soft drinks that students sell at various events. By putting in place a wide selection of different parent sports and other activities, the PTG has contributed significantly to building a strong community of parents across the two campuses. And, importantly – what sometimes goes unnoticed is that PTG Committee members work tirelessly behind the scenes, with parents and with school, to resolve issues that may crop up.

A wide range of school years is represented in the PTG, from Primary through High School, ensuring that diverse interests are taken into account.

Your 13 PTG representative for 2018-19 are: Hilary (Chair), Jas (Treasurer), Axel (Secretary), Ann, Bob, Hina, Lionel, Nerina, Nik, Paul, Sarah, Tina, and Yvonne.

Please get in touch at ptgchair@standrews.ac.th if you have any questions or want to get involved. And please watch this space for the next PTG Update!

International Day 2018

International Day at Primary is this Friday (12 October). If country representatives have any last-minute questions, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. Otherwise, Estates are ready to start working on the Sports Hall as soon as the second assembly has finished and parents will be allowed in to set up as soon as the room is ready. The first children (Year 1) will be coming at 11.30 a.m.
