Foundation Stage: Our first school trip

Friendships, language and bodies strengthened as FS1 and FS2 excitedly went on the school buses to Rama 9 park this week.

first trip

The children explored the playground playing on the swings, slides, seesaws and balance toys. They particularly enjoyed going into the Thai house on stilts, the children called this a “tree house” playing games of dropping leaves and hide and seek with each other.  It was interesting to children to learn the word “cobweb” as we looked into the the house.

We then walked on through the park talking about plants, animals such as birds, fish and monitor lizards that we saw and stopped to climb a tree learning some different physical skill which cannot be found in the soft playroom.

In the plant houses the children looked at all the “spikey plants” understanding that they should not touch them (no one did!) and looked in awe at the huge leaves growing on some trees.

We then boarded the tram which took us to the Chinese garden where we looked at the lily pads and stopped for a lovely group photo.

our first trip

We got back on the tram which took us to the Thai Sala for our welcome lunch of chicken, vegetables and sticky rice.

Educational trips are so important to a child’s development as they learn a great deal from exploring and having different experiences outside of the regular school day. They are always talked about for months after the trip has taken place as children remember the picnic, the time they played with their friend on a seesaw, when they boarded a colourful tram to take them round the park or the feeling of courage that they are going to a new place with friends and teachers.
