Welcome to the final week of this third term and the end of the academic year. This year seems to have flown by with so much happening across the school each week. Our final week is a busy one with several House competitions including the House music competition which is always a highlight of the year. Once these events are complete, the final calculations can be done across the school so we can work out which House will win the championship this year. This will be announced by our House Leaders on Friday in our end of term assemblies.
On Friday every child will receive their school yearbook. The pages within are really looking fantastic and the images showcase what a vibrant school community we have. If you are leaving for your holidays before Friday and would like your yearbook sent to you, please make sure you let the school office know as soon as possible.
Once the school closes there will be a lot happening at both campuses with renovation, maintenance and improvement of the facilities taking place. The High School will have three new floors altered and changed to extend our classroom facilities and create a new home for the Art Department on the top of the Red Building. At the Primary School, there are lots of plans, including a new climbing frame outside of the Key Stage 1 building.
The end of the school year is always a celebration of all that has been achieved throughout the year. All of our young people have grown and developed mentally and physically over the course of their studies, as well. The happiness and pride we all feel is always touched with a hint of sadness as we say goodbye to staff and families who are leaving us at the end of this year to go to other parts of the world. I wish everyone who is leaving the best of luck with their transitions. I hope you settle in rapidly to wherever you are headed and continue to stay in touch with us.
A special thank you goes to all our teaching and administrative staff who have worked tirelessly throughout this year. You have really achieved an immense amount this year, a fact which was celebrated in the accreditation report from the Education Trust and British Schools Overseas inspection earlier this third term. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts
Thank you to our Parent Teacher Group (PTG) for all your support this year and for the many great community events organised and hosted. I know everyone is ready for a holiday, and I hope everyone within our school community has a very safe enjoyable and relaxing holiday, recharging their batteries to return on Monday 20th August for the start of next academic year.
