Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1: Supporting each other and the community

We welcomed student teachers from Chulalongkorn into FS2 and FS3 at St Andrews International School Bangkok...Looking back on a successful Nursery Rhyme Week...The opening of the Zero Waste Shop is a change in the right direction...Celebrating this term’s topic.

This week we were pleased to welcome four Student Teachers from Chulalongkorn University as they started their placement with us in FS2 and FS3. Last year we supported another group of final year students as they developed their understanding of international education so we look forward to another successful placement.

Nursery Rhyme Week

Those of you dropping off children in the morning last week would have seen what an enormous success Nursery Rhyme Week turned out to be. Throughout the week there was Buddy Reading of Rhymes of poems and the Nursery Rhyme Tent with hosted different themes such as musical rhymes with Ms Alice and Ms Marie and took on an International theme on Friday with the Language team teaching everyone familiar rhymes in different languages.

Thank you to everyone who helped to run the activities and everyone who joined in and earned themselves some house points!

Year 1 children love this term’s topic of Celebration! With a lot of events on the school calendar and such a diverse community who celebrate in so many different ways, the learning opportunities are endless. Last week Weddings were the focus of the topic, with Loy Krathong being celebrated this week. Christmas is of course on the horizon and teachers will be sending details of those celebrations to individual classes.
