High School: It’s great to be home!

It’s great to be back at St Andrews International School Bangkok as we approach the last three weeks of this term.

After a week away, it was great to walk back into school this morning and see the Christmas decorations that went up last week.

I had a really interesting week in Beijing, visiting the Yew Chung International School of Beijing as Co-Chair of the CIS Evaluation Team, but it is great to be home!

The weather in Beijing was very cold - in last week’s Newsletter I included a photo of a beautiful Monday morning, when the temperature was -1° C. By the time we left the school on Friday the temperature had risen slightly, but the AQI had risen from 37 to 213:

Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings

This week we have two Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings, with both preceded by Information Evenings about next term’s Residential Trips. I am looking forward to discussing Year 9’s Options with them and their parents on Tuesday, and to Year 7’s first High School Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings on Thursday.

12 Days of Canteen Cuisine

We are now into the last 12 full days of school this term, and starting a new feature in Newsletters and on the school’s Facebook and Instagram pages: 12 Days of Canteen Cuisine.

Pictured above are me and my lunch today, a lovely Meat-Free Monday combination of Penne Aglio Olio and Broccoli and Cauliflower Gratin, with the broccoli, cauliflower and cheese sauce beautifully counterbalancing the heat of the Thai, rather than Italian, level of chili in the Aglio Olio.

Look out for 11 more days of Canteen Cuisine on our school Facebook and Instagram pages...

NAE Parent Satisfaction Survey 2019-20

At this time every year, when we are planning school developments for the next academic year, we send out the annual NAE Parent Satisfaction Survey. This survey covers all the key areas of the school including the learning environment and teaching we provide, the way in which we support your child’s social development, our range of facilities and the way in which we communicate with our families.

We would very much like you to complete this survey, which you will receive this week, as your feedback helps us to provide the best possible experiences for your child

Please note that Parents need to complete the survey in one sitting. The survey is designed to capture feedback on a per family basis, but if both parents take the survey this is also fine.

The views of all of our parents will be used to inform our strategies for continued improvement. The closing date is Friday 31st January 2020.
