Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1: Not for the faint of heart

Last week’s Frightful Friday offered no shortage of Halloween-themed activities and games…This week is Nursery Rhyme Week! Keep a lookout for the Nursery Rhyme Tent and student posters...The annual Flu Vaccination Programme  will take place this Friday...Find out more about next Monday’s Loy Krathong celebration.

Primary school was a terrifying sight on Friday morning as lots of ghouls, ghosts, monsters and witches arrived at school to do their spelling tests….

The house leaders organised some informal spooky themed games at breaktimes, and everybody had a fantastic time making new friends. We had deliberately aimed for a low-key event but the effort but into some of the costumes was anything but that. Thank you everybody to contributing to the fun!

The house leaders also made some fantastic videos showing highlights of the day.

Nursery Rhyme Week is here! 4th-8th November

Of course, barely a week goes by without some special event happening that makes it particularly special. This week it is the turn of Nursery Rhyme Week. Look for the Nursery Rhyme Tent on the way into school this week. You might also spot some beautiful posters created by the children to advertise the event.

Flu Vaccination this Friday

By now you will know the details of the annual flu vaccination programme, which will be held at the Primary Campus on Friday this week (8th November 1pm-4pm.) The programme- in collaboration with Samitivej Hospital- will, as usual, be open to all members of the family and we have over 200 sign ups.

This programme is popular and we need to make sure that we order enough of the vaccine in advance of the 8th November. Please complete the google form below to register:

Flu Vaccination Form

At the end of the Google form, you can download the medical forms, which must be completed for everyone who is having the vaccination. These must be brought with you on the day of the vaccination. Each shot is a very reasonable 590 Baht which as payable of the day.

*Please remember that a family member needs to collect your child from class and take them for the vaccination. You may collect the children from class before the end of the day to have their vaccination. Following the vaccination the children should be taken home.

Additional shuttle buses are running from High School at 2.30pm, and with parental consent High School students can come over from High School for the vaccination independently.

Loy Krathong

On Monday 11th November we will be celebrating Loy Kratong in school. For those of you who are new to Thailand, Loy Krathong takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar and is a celebration at the end of the rainy season paying thanks to the water goddess, Mae Kongkha (Mother of Waters). The krathongs which people make and float on the waterways of Thailand are offerings to her.

The children and staff will all come to school wearing traditional Thai costume. These costumes will be readily available from local markets - our nearest market is behind Pridi Banomyong Soi 2 - large supermarkets and specialist stores, such as Phahuratdotcom.

There will be special assemblies on the day that parents are welcome to join - details of which will follow.

Traffic Flow System and Parking Arrangements

We are sure that many of you have noticed the vast improvement in the traffic flow in the morning since we’ve introduced the new parking system. The feedback we’ve received from parents has been very positive. However, recently we’ve noticed that the traffic on Pridi 20 has been steadily getting worse in the morning. As mentioned previously, the local residents have been in touch with the local authorities due to the disruption to their lives and, if this continues, it is likely that this exit will be closed to everyone except shuttle bus users. Please help us by using the main car park to drop off your children in the morning and help reduce congestion on Pridi 20.
