We are looking for an energetic and experienced SENCO to co-ordinate our Learning Support teams across Foundation Stage and Primary.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Primary SLT as an Assistant Head.

They will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to co-ordinate and support both teachers and therapists in our multi-disciplinary team, and develop individualised learning programmes for high needs students.

They will work collaboratively with the Learning Support Co-ordinators for both FS/KS1 and KS2 to ensure that the needs of learning support students in mainstream classes have their needs effectively met.

They will be able to feed into and develop the assessment process for all learning support students to ensure the progress for all students is clear and targets ambitious.

They will have a sound knowledge of global delay, autistic spectrum disorder, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, cerebral palsy and other conditions that might affect a child’s ability to learn at the same pace as their peers; having a willingness to research more unusual conditions and support colleagues in writing learning programmes for all students.

Working with STARS (High Needs) teachers and mainstream teachers to ensure that high needs students have appropriate opportunities to join mainstream classes and take a full and active part in the life of the school.

Lead training of LSAs and teachers as appropriate

Work with the High School Learning Support team to ensure smooth transitions into High School for Y6 students and ensure the sharing of experience and good practice across all phases of school.
