It is now only six weeks until the Songkran holiday - the last six weeks of lessons for our Year 11 and 13 students before they begin their exams in the first week of May, early next term, so it is heating up metaphorically as well as physically for them.
It was great to see so many Year 11 parents at the Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings that took place in the week before half-term, with Year 11 students reflecting on what they have learned from their recent Mock Exams and planning their revision over the next few months. Year 13 students, and their parents, have their Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings on Thursday this week, followed later this term by Year 7, 8 and 9’s second Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings of the year. These dates, and some other highlights of the second half of the term, are shown on the extract from the High School Calendar below and you can download a pdf of the updated High School Calendar for the next six weeks here.
NAE Visitors to St Andrews
This week and next, we are hosting visitors from NAE from all over the world, with delegates flying in from as far away as Brazil and Costa Rica for the Senior Leadership Programme, taking place from Wednesday to Friday this week, and from schools in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam for the NAE South-East Asia Regional Conference, taking place from Sunday to Tuesday next week. A reminder that this means that next Monday, 4 March, is an INSET Day, with no school for students.
In between these two conferences, it’s Marlin Mayhem 2019 this weekend.
Each year during Term 2 we ask parents about their future plans and whether families will be returning to St Andrews next academic year. While we understand this may be difficult for some families at the present time, we appreciate your support and cooperation in responding to the Leavers’ Survey that was emailed to parents by our Admissions Team just before half-term.
Have a great second half of the term!
