Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1: Happy Lunar New Year

We celebrate the Lunar New Year this week in Key Stage 1 and look forward to Busking Week next week...Parents are reminded of the Well Child Policy in place at St Andrews International School Bangkok.

Welcome back to school after an unexpected break, and to clearer skies. It was unfortunate to have the cancellation of both Tri-kids and Fun Day last week, but hopefully these can be rescheduled if the lower levels of pollution appear to be stable.

This week we are looking forward to some Lunar New Year activities and kicked off the celebrations today with a visit from the Lion Dancers that proved so popular last year. For many of the younger students it was their first encounter with the ‘lion’, and proved to be very exciting!

Busking Week

Next week sees the welcome return of Busking Week, something that has become a bit of a tradition over the last few years. Talented children from across the Primary School come together each breaktime to use their skills to earn money for charity. Please send the children with some coins every day next week so that they can drop a few baht into the collection box of their favourite performers. The teachers will be explaining ‘busking’ to the children later on this week

Well Child Policy

We continue with our deep-clean routines this week as children return to school. We are still being informed of a few flu cases and there is a sickness bug also being reported.

Teachers are vigilant and send children to the nurse when they see that they are unwell, and show them how to cough and sneeze without spreading germs to their friends.

A reminder however of our Well Child Policy: if your child is showing symptoms such as fever or a runny nose, please don’t give them medicine to allow them to get through the school day. Keep them home until they are feeling better. This way all the other students and their teachers stay healthy and ready for learning.
