High School Sport: Progressing to term 2

With the big BISAC weekend of sport being postponed due to poor air quality, we look forward to Season 3 as well as some thrilling basketball heading our way next weekend.

rugby bisac cup

Rugby

The Varsity Boys had a great day at the BISAC Cup on Saturday. They lost their play-off for 3rd but progress has been huge and they go home stronger and wiser!

BISAC Season 2 tournaments

What was supposed to be our biggest weekend of the year, during which we were to host four tournaments as well as attend several more, turned out to feature no sport whatsoever due to the pollution. BISAC will discuss on Wednesday what plan of action to take, but as we move into Season 3, it is likely that most tournaments will not be rescheduled.

We know that this is disappointing, but we have plenty of other events still on the calendar and are busy planning for these.

FNG#2

Our second Friday Night Game is this Friday, 8 January. We can’t wait!

BISP will be coming from Phuket with their U15s and we have our Dance Team as well as some loud support from the Percussion Band to help create a great atmosphere

Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at 7.15 a.m. next to the cafe at 40 thb each (for charity). Parents do not need to buy a ticket. Please note that any non-STA children must be accompanied by an adult.

Players and performers do not need to buy a ticket.

Flames 3on3 Invitational Championship

3on3

On Saturday, St Andrews International School Bangkok hosts our Flames U15 3on3 Invitational Championships. This will be a fun day of non-stop bball action with some great competition from amongst the best bball playing schools and clubs around.

We have 8 STA teams entered, including Blaze squad members, and we’d love to see lots of parents support them from the bleachers.

The games on Court 1 will be livestreamed to our Youtube page (St Andrews International School Bangkok), in case you can’t make it in person.

House Athletics

All of our House Athletics Days have been postponed until further notice due to the uncertainty over pollution.

Tennis

This week we’re back on court with lots of opportunities to train, compete and have fun. Come and join our growing STA Tennis community. Weekday and weekend opportunities available for everyone! Contact tennis@standrews.ac.th for more information.

Keep in touch

Please stay up-to-date by joining our STA Flames & Marlins Facebook closed group for parents and students who are part of our Sports Programme.

As it’s a closed group not open to the general public, please complete the questions so that we know if you’re part of our STA community.

Parents may post to this group and it’s been great to see some of your photos of our kids in action!
