High School: “We respect diversity and celebrate both our similarities and our differences.”

It’s May. We’re into the last two months of the school year, and have another new monthly theme.

Term 3, and the school year, is really flying by. Can anyone believe that International Day, when I took the photo on this month’s Monthly Theme poster, was more than six months ago?

I took another big group photo on Wednesday last week, with the photo below showing (almost) all of those involved in the High School Production of Bugsy Malone. Congratulations to everyone involved in a fantastic show, which really reflected all the hard work, throughout the year, as well as the fun that everyone involved was having.

The last few lines of Bugsy Malone really fit with our new Monthly Theme too:

“It's been decided, we're weaker divided.

Let friendship double up our powers.

You give a little love and it all comes back to you.

You know your gonna be remembered for the things that you say and do.”

Congratulations also to James (Year 8) and Anya (Year 11) who have recently been announced as winners in the NAE Writer of the Year, so are included in the NAE Creative Writing Anthology, and New (Year 11) whose entry for the NAE Visual Arts Competition, focused on SDG Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions, was Highly Commended, so will be featured as part of a display at the NAE UNICEF Summit at the United Nations in New York this summer. You can read James’ work here, Anya’s work here, see the complete NAE Creative Writing Anthology here and see all the other Visual Arts Competition winners here.

This week we have Years 7 - 10 Tutor Group and Individual Photos (Your son/daughter's Tutor will have e-mailed with more specific details) and the first of our “Bonus Mondays”, with Wednesday’s lessons, but not ECAs, following the usual Monday timetable.
