Head's Lines: Recharged batteries and plenty to look forward for the rest of Term 1.

Big thanks to everyone for International day, it was a great way to end the first half of Term 1! There is a lot to look forward to for the rest of the Term with careful health and safety planning underway for Loy Kratong and Christmas events. You can see the updated school calendar here.

I hope everyone had a relaxing break during our half-term holiday. Mr Paul

The International Day held at the High School on the last day before the holiday was a truly great way to round off a busy half term. This wonderful day followed on from the fantastic atmosphere that was present during the International Days celebrated the week before at the Primary School. Our PTG, working closely with the country representatives and their teams, did another amazing job organising the international food hall, which looked amazing and was a tantalising taste experience for our High School students. From sitting amongst them to eat, I know that they all really appreciated the hard work put in by the parents to make this day so special. This gastronomic journey built on the great activities the students were undertaking in classrooms across the school.

A huge thank you to every parent who was involved in both of our international days. They were both great successes and really illustrate the breadth of cultures and communities within the school and importantly, how we can all learn from one another.

During the second half of Term 1, there are lots of exciting things to look forward to in the lead up to Christmas. We have certainly learnt a lot from our careful planning of our International Days in terms of how to balance maintaining the festive atmosphere of these large scale events along with making sure they are run in a safe and healthy way. Later this term, we will have our Loy Krathong festival and to round things up, the Christmas shows, fairs and music concerts to end the term. As with our International events, these will all be held in a slightly modified format compared to other years to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy these events safely. I know through working closely with our PTG that our whole community will pull together to do everything we can to make school life for the children and young people as much like normal as possible so that no one misses out on these great experiences.

School Calendar

Our school will follow the recently updated school calendar that has been shared with our school community and is available on our school website. We realise the Government has recently brought in some additional holidays in November and altered holiday dates in December. However, St Andrews will not be adding any additional holidays or making any further changes to the calendar.

For your convenience, you can find the updated school calendar for 2020-2021 here.
