Over the weekend, Christmas trees began sprouting up in the school’s offices, and most spectacularly in the Quad at Primary School and in front of the Red Building at High School. These trees, accompanied by the festive decorations popping up all across the school, are a cheerful reminder that the end of Term 1 and the Christmas holidays are only three weeks away. There is much to look forward to over the coming weeks with seasonal shows, music concerts and the annual Christmas fairs on both campuses of our school. Please keep an eye out for announcements regarding your children’s upcoming Christmas shows or music concerts as there are many more this year than in the past. The plan is to schedule many more showings and encore performances to smaller audiences so that everyone can enjoy these fantastic end of term celebrations in a safe, healthy way.
Last week was the official end of the Extra-curricular Activities (ECA) programme with many of these last sessions featuring celebratory shows in which children could show off what they have learned and created with their teachers. This past weekend signups for the Term 2 ECA programme became live on Moodle so that parents and students can begin reviewing and selecting activities during Term 2.
PTG Drinks
Thank you to our Parent Teacher Group (PTG) for hosting an evening of drinks at Ekamai Beer House. It was a very enjoyable opportunity for teachers, administrators and parents to chat about the challenges and successes of this past term and share with each other their plans for the upcoming long weekend and end of term holiday.
Drama
Earlier this term I was fortunate enough to witness some fantastic performances from our Year 13 IB Theatre Arts students’ final exam presentations for their course. This week, in similar fashion, Year 11 IGCSE Drama students will be putting on their final exam performances, so I am very much looking forward to previewing these devised mock exam pieces.
