Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1: Making headway into Term 2

Year 1 seized the opportunity for a successful and educational trip to Benjasiri Park...Discover what the White Elephant Stall has in store...Start making your preparations for Book Week and the Character Parade.

Y1 Trip to Benjasiri Park

After a couple of cancelled trips due to pollution, Y1 finally made it on their park  trip last week. Luck was on their side with the air quality being better at the park than close to school so, though the trips were shortened, the children set off with their sketching pencils and paper to look at the sculptures and statues and general park design.  Thank you to the parent helpers who came along to support the trip.

Cancellation of Fun Day

You will have all seen the announcement last week regarding the postponement of Fun Day.  With the amount of work that has already gone into the organising of this event and the excitement it generates, it was a very difficult decision to make.

“White Elephant Stall” - Primary School (Drama Studio 13th March)

Please keep the donations coming in!

There are some of the traditional Funday Events still going ahead, one of those being the White Elephant Stall.  Once we have collected your donations for the stall, we will set it up during the school day on Friday 13th March so that people can come and find some bargains!

This event will also provide the Primary children with an opportunity to ‘go shopping’.

The classes will all be able to visit the White Elephant Stall with their teachers, so please send in a maximum of 100B in a named purse or wallet to keep their spending money and change safe.  A shopping bag might also be useful.

Parents are welcome to shop at any time.

PLEASE NOTE: We will also now have the STA Eco-Beasts Book Character Costume Sale (in aid of Australian Wildlife) on the same day.  This will be in the small quad. Please send any costume donations for the sale to Ms Susan in Y1 (3rd floor of T Block).

This year any books, toys, clothes, ornaments etc will be sold in support of our local families, including some of our bus monitors, that recently lost their homes and possessions to a fire that raged through their small community. Please bring in your donations, clearly labeled with your child’s name, class and house to receive House Points. There are collection boxes in Early Years, in the KS1 canteen and by the library.

Remember that your unwanted items might be just what someone else is looking for! If you have any questions please email Mrs Meg (

Community Rebuilding Fund

Thank you all for your generous donations following the recent fire. This now stands at over 400,000 baht and is being transferred this week to the community leaders who are co-ordinating the rebuilding project.  The collection is still open via Moodle (link) if you would like to donate.  Thanks also to those of you whose companies are able to support this project.

Book Week is coming!

Does your child have a costume ready for the Book Character Parade?

For those families new to school, every year we have a Book Character Parade on the Friday of Book Week to celebrate the culmination of an exciting week of fun, book related activities.  There are prizes for creative, home-made costumes, as well as for the competitions held throughout the week.

As always, we will have a visiting author for the week. This year it’s Damian Harvey - an author of books for Primary aged children. His books range from biographies and historical stories to poetry and stories. You might recognise some of them already as he has written for the Project X series. As well as doing some presentations and writing workshops with the children, Damian will also be signing copies of his books which will be available to buy in the library.

This year our STA EcoBeasts are trying to encourage us to be sustainable. If you have costumes that children have outgrown or just don’t wear anymore, they can be donated to school for House Points. These costumes will then be sold at discount prices and all money raised sent to Australian Wildlife charities to support their recovery from the devastating wildfires.
