Primary: Our Primary Key Stages combine News!

This week, our Key Stages in Primary combine their updates. VSE resources have been delivered across the city to make a positive difference to the students' learning. Foundation Stage, have access to virtual story sacks and are not one to miss! And find out which Year 5's have been acknowledged for their fantastic optical illusion art.

While we are working in the VSE, we will be combining the newsletter for all Key Stages at Primary as, unfortunately,  there are no events going on at our physical campus at the moment.

This week and last week the teachers have been busy preparing lessons and resources for all the students and we are now delivering our full Virtual School Experience. As you will know, the resource packs are ready and have been delivered to homes or picked up by parents. Thank you to Mr Eddie and the Transport department for supplying all these resources around the city. These packs will make a positive difference to the learning of the students.

Virtual School Experience (VSE)

Even though the learning is all online, there have been some fantastic activities going on and the quality of the work submitted by the students has been extremely high. One positive we can take from this experience is how resilient the students have been this week in their studies, showing some real independence to enter live lessons and work on activities in their own homes - well done everyone! Thank you all for your support in helping your children complete their online work.

Below are some examples of some wonderful pieces of work submitted by STA students this week. In Year 5, the students produced some Op ART work, this is ART that causes an Optical illusion. Thank you to Nao, Pete and Arthur in 5G for fantastic efforts:

Valuable Resources

In Foundation Stage, the students have had virtual Story Sacks shared with them that are provided by NAE on their Global Campus Junior Site. The teachers read out the well-known and loved books, and resources are created to provide the students with activities linked to the story. Some of our Foundation Stage teachers have been involved in creating and making the resources for this site, and it has been a real success, both here at STA and in the Nord Anglia Schools worldwide. If you wish to see these wonderful resources, they can be found by clicking on the Global Campus icon on your Moodle page.

Book Sharing

One great activity the Year 2s did this week was ‘Book Talks’ where the students shared their favourite books with each other and explained why they enjoyed reading that book so much. There were some great reasons given by the children, and it hopefully will encourage Year 2 students to keep reading during this time away from school. Another wonderful idea was creating a courage jar to add to anytime the children do something courageous or brave. This is a reminder to celebrate times when we are brave and have to leave our comfort zone- something that we all have had to do this academic year!

Nord Anglia Education (NAE) Parent Satisfaction Survey

Every year, NAE conducts a Parent Satisfaction Survey to gauge how well as a global organisation we are doing. The survey will help to identify successes and areas for improvement.

We know that everyone is busy supporting their children through the VSE and managing their own lives, but we would greatly appreciate it if you would take the time to complete this survey. This shouldn't take more than 10 minutes, but please note that it needs to be completed in one sitting. It is ok for more than one person from a family to complete the survey. If you have already completed this, you do not need to do it again.
