We are delighted to announce that Enya (Year 12) has been offered and has accepted the role of Community Manager for NAE's Global Campus. The process involved in selecting the best candidate for these Global Campus roles was highly competitive and open to students from the entire NAE family of schools.
Enya will be overseeing the student content from the Southeast Asia and Middle East region, working closely with NAE's Global Campus teams in the region and in London. This includes working with the Directors of NAE to manage and improve the content on Global Campus for the year ahead. Please join us in congratulating Enya on her successful application for this position and wishing her the best of luck with her new role.
Year 11 and 13 Mock Exams Update
In Monday 11th January’s Newsletter, and on our VSE Guidelines, I wrote:
“Our current plan is that Year 13 Mock Exams will be delayed one week, and will now begin on Monday 1st February. This is the same week as Year 11 Mock Exams and the first week that we currently expect students to be back in school.”
While we still hope to reopen on Monday 1st February, this has not yet been confirmed by the BMA or the Ministry of Education.
We know that this uncertainty is having a negative effect on our Year 11 and 13 students as they prepare for their Mock Exams. While it is important to note that students’ Mock Exam results do not directly affect either their Predicted or final (I)GCSE/IBDP grades, we want all of the students to do as well as they possibly can in these exams, to better inform the students, and their teachers and parents, of their strengths and areas that need more focus between now and the May/June exams.
If we are able to reopen on Monday 1st February, Year 13 Mock Exams will now begin on Wednesday 3rd February, with Year 11 Mock Exams beginning on Friday 5th February. This will allow all Year 11 and 13 students to have some final face-to-face lessons before beginning their Mock Exams, but still allow those Year 13 students who require Mid-Year Reports for their US university applications the opportunity to demonstrate their progress before the school completes these Reports. Year 11 and 13 Exam Reports and Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings would then take place after half-term.
We will send a further update later this week, either confirming these plans or sharing our revised plans if the current period of VSE is extended.
