After school fun!

Last week saw the start of the Primary after school activities, a new addition to the VSE, which further strengthens our offer for the children. Across the week and across the age ranges, the children were able to meet up with different children from their year group, and quite often, with different teachers from their year group. From sports and music to jigsaws, coding and yoga, there’s something for everyone to keep them busy.

The after school activities are an excellent opportunity to socialise with friends, make new connections, and have fun beyond the usual day in the VSE. You can find out the details of this week’s activities in the 13 September 2021 newsletter.

Please note: look at the tab at the bottom of the sheet to select your child’s year group.

Some other VSE Highlights from last week

Year 2 Students become Teachers!

Year 2 looked at how to build Paper aeroplanes and boats as part of their topic on transport. Some of the students became the teachers and shared their videos of instructions with the rest of the students! Teaching and learning, well done Year 2! As you can see from the results, it was a really successful activity, and the students learnt how to make something by following instructions but also how to be clear when giving instructions.

Year 5 turn into History Researchers

Year 5 have been researching Ancient Rome in the last few weeks. Some of the facts they have uncovered have been absolutely fascinating. They have looked at places and people, what it was like to be rich or poor in those times and also what it was like to be a child. By looking at the lives of everyday people, history can become more relevant to us. Below are a few very interesting facts by some of the Year 5 students. Well done Year 5!
