In Pre-Nursery, singing songs and listening to music is always part of the everyday routine.
Music can be used for many different purposes such as calming and soothing children or playing lively up beat music to allow them to freely move and express themselves.
Providing children with these learning opportunities will help them develop not only their language but also their creativity and physical skills and will help aid in their personal and social development as well. You could almost say that music helps all areas of a child's development.
As children hear music from an early age, it helps them learn sounds and the meanings of words. Moving to music helps develop those gross and fine motor skills, it can also strengthen children’s memory skills.
