A warm welcome back from the KS2 team to both our returning families and to those families who are new to Key Stage 2.

Both the children and staff arrived at school on Monday morning excited about our term ahead.  Already the classrooms are a hive of activity and the children have settled well into their new routines.  The classes have spent this week participating in activities that enable everyone to get to know each other a little better and that encourage the children to work collaboratively.

I am always impressed with how well the children at BSB Sanlitun welcome our new joiners and this term has been no exception.  KS2 have some new faces in our teaching team as we are joined by Mr Campbell (Year 3 teacher), Ms Farquharson (Year 4 teacher), Ms Hall (Year 4 teacher), Mr O’Boyle (Year 5 teacher) and Ms Kirkby (Year 6 teacher).  We are also pleased to be joined by our new teaching assistants: Ms Shan, Ms Helen, Ms Chrissie and Ms Naomi.  We all look forward to meeting you at our Meet & Greet event next Thursday.

The KS2 team is well prepared for the busy term ahead with a curriculum that is designed to inspire and challenge the children.   This term, Year 3 will be going back in to ancient Egypt, Year 4 will be travelling around the world exploring different continents, Year 5 have already blasted off with their Space topic and Year 6 are preparing for their residential to Inner Mongolia by comparing people and places.  Keep an eye out for more information on these topics in this term’s newsletters!

We look forward to working as a team to help your children be the best that they can be.
