In the first 2 weeks we have 5 Sports Days, Get Active Week, workshops and performances from Andrea (our guest from Juilliard), our final MIT Challenge involving Year 1 to Year 6, the Easter Egg Decoration Competition, Pastries With Parents for families in Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, picnics for Nursery & Pre-nursery children, the Staff Appreciation event organised by the Parent Association and School Inspector training being hosted at the school. I’m exhausted just typing all of this, and I haven’t begun to talk about the wonderful learning going on in the classrooms yet!
This term we have Reception exploring the land of the dinosaurs, whilst Year 1 are going on an African Safari and Year 2 will be studying Dragons. In Key Stage 2, Year 3 are investigating our active planet, and Year 4 are exploring communication through the ages. Year 5 are studying rivers, whilst Year 6 are exploring the ancient kingdom of Benin. The learning in school continues to be thematic in its approach, weaving the different subjects eg maths, English, science into it to make the learning fun, relevant and exciting for pupils here in school. Our youngest children will be exploring a number of themes such as pirates, under the ocean and the beach.
This term is packed full of learning, experiences and life developing opportunities for pupils at BSB Sanlitun. The weeks will fly by before we are all wishing each other farewell for the summer. We hope parents participate in all the opportunities provided this term, and enjoy being part of the school community; we look forward to welcoming you to all the different events and experiences in school.
