Performing Arts Virtual School

Year 7 have been learning to notate using specific music software that we use with our IGCSE and IB exam classes. Their brief is to compose a waltz in a ternary structure using the pentatonic scale. You can see an example of the work so far from Emily Thompson at the bottom of the article.

Year 9 are involved in a combined Performing Arts project that looks at physical theatre. Music students are creating their own 3 minute track using either Garageband or Soundation software to accompany their Drama movements. Students have to create their music and movement based around three emotions.  You can hear Patrick O’Dowd’s progress so far with the first part of his Music for his physical theatre piece.

Listen to Patrick's music here.

This week Year 10 students submitted solo performances as part of their IGCSE performance modules. Check out Cili Stinners work with her performance of ‘Someone You Loved’.

Listen to Cili's music here.

Great work guys!
