Year 4 Primary Class Teacher

BA (Hons) Sport Development and Physical Education, Liverpool John Moores University

PGCE in Education, Liverpool Hope University

Alistair started his teaching career in 2005, originally as a Secondary PE Teacher. He spent 7 years teaching in Secondary schools before becoming Head of PE in his first Primary teaching role in Wirral, England. Alistair took up his first international teaching post in Malaysia at The Alice Smith School where he taught KS2.

During his time as a Secondary teacher Alistair completed numerous coaching courses in various sports. Whilst in Malaysia, Alistair completed the Performance Coaching for Leadership, led by Executive Coach Training.

Alistair is a very cheerful and positive character who loves to make all students feel that the classroom learning environment is safe, enjoyable and progressively challenging.  Having worked internationally, Alistair appreciates the value that multiculturalism and bilingualism can have in the learning environment and ensures all students realise both their potential and the value they have.  Sparking curiosity is the foundation of his teaching philosophy.

In his spare time, Alistair enjoys rugby, playing against Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka during his career. He is an amateur photography enthusiast who enjoys going on walks to take landscape images and photos of his dog who has (reluctantly) become his main model. He has also recently taken up golf and is very keen to develop his skills further.
