Eleanor started her teaching career in 2004 and her first post was in a large suburban comprehensive school in Cardiff. She then took up her first international school post in Hong Kong in the same school which she had attended as a child and worked in a large MFL department delivering both the IGCSE and the IB Diploma programmes. After a break from teaching during which she went back to university and worked in the NGO sector in Cambodia and Australia, Eleanor returned to the classroom to teach French, German and Spanish in Abu Dhabi.
Eleanor joined NAE in Abu Dhabi in 2015 before moving to BISB as an MFL teacher in 2017. She has participated in a number of professional development opportunities through Nord Anglia University and school-based CPD events. A favourite of which was a leadership course run by middle leaders at BISAD.
As a product of an international education herself, Eleanor is passionate about enabling all of her students to take full advantage of the opportunities afforded to them. Through her love of languages and international affairs, Eleanor strives to instil in all learners a deep interest in the wider world and open their eyes to all the fabulous things that they can achieve.
In her spare time, Eleanor is a great reader and is always looking for a new author to discover. She also loves to swim, travel and learn new languages. Eleanor is very close to her family (and friends), even though they are spread out all over the world.
