Shona Berque

Shone Berque

Music Teacher

BMus (Hons) Music, University of Glasgow

PGCE (International), University of Nottingham

Shona began teaching in 2014 in Malaysia as a Woodwind Music Specialist in a large international school before gaining her PGCEI in Secondary Music. After three wonderful years in Malaysia, Shona moved to Nepal to work as Secondary Music Teacher in Kathmandu at another international school. During her time in Kathmandu, Shona was part of a committed Performing Arts Department and helped to develop and deliver the music curriculum from Year 6 up to IGCSE.

Shona believes that having a passion for your subject and being able to share your passion effectively with others is fundamental to teaching.  As a music teacher, Shona aims to encourage students to become committed and ambitious performers ensuring they have an outlet in which to express themselves and gain confidence.

Having grown up in Scotland and lived in Nepal, Shona loves spending time in the mountains, whether trekking, hiking or trail running. She also loves going to see live music, particularly jazz and classical concerts.
