Erika started teaching Spanish as a foreign language in 1988 when she introduced Spanish in different language schools creating the bases and syllabuses for Spanish teaching.
Erika joined the International Business School in Budapest as the Head of Spanish Section where she taught general language and business Spanish for 23 years. She developed and implemented the Spanish curriculum, organised Spanish and Latin-American cultural programmes (such as the invitation of the Peruvian Nobel Prize laureate writer, Mario Vargas Llosa) as well as various expositions, performances, movie festivals and film clubs.
She has worked part-time at Instituto Cervantes since 2007, and also at Central European University as Spanish language leader, instructor, coordinator and consultant since 2013.
Erika is the co-author of several series of Spanish textbooks - Colores 1, 2, 3 - published in Hungary since 1998 and for those she has won national awards. The books were also published in the Czech Republic. She is currently working on the updated version of a series of books for high school students.
Erika joined our school in 2016, feeling the need to continue working in an international environment.
It is fundamental for Erika to prepare students for a multilingual environment, and she loves the challenge of working in an international ambience being with young people from all over the world.
In her leisure time Erika enjoys gardening and doing sports, like Pilates, cycling and rowing. She likes watching art movies, travelling as well as cooking for the family and friends.
