Laker Learning Buddies personify UNITAS

“To teach is to learn twice.”  Such is the rationale behind our Laker Learning Buddies.  Every WPS student is paired with another student, creating a social and learning relationship.  Learning buddies learn together, support each other, and grow together. Students are paired 5 years apart, which allows them to progress through WPS together, starting in PreK-3 all the way until 8th grade. Buddies work together in various ways, meeting once a month. These visits are extensions of the curriculum, enhancing learning for all students involved. Additionally, it takes learning across the campus, as those teachers collaborate to plan learning experiences for both sets of buddies. It is certainly UNITAS in action!
