Staff Profile: Miss A. Batiste

Miss A. Batiste

Primary Class Teacher, 3E

Miss Batiste has a BA (Hons) in International Development Studies from the University of East Anglia and she completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in 2010.

As part of my degree, I organised a work placement at New Day Foster Home on the outskirts of Beijing, providing education and medical support to orphaned children experiencing various physical and mental disabilities. This experience is what first instilled in me a love of China and a passion for teaching.

I completed my PGCE before returning to Beijing where I gained experience teaching across both Primary Key Stages. Upon returning to England I began my career at The Pointer School, an Independent Prep School in London where I taught Year 2 for 3 years. During this time I held the responsibility of Charities Co-ordinator, a role I was particularly passionate about, and enjoyed organising and running a variety of events and appeals.

I am very passionate about teaching and enjoy engaging children in their learning, enabling them to reach their full potential both academically and socially. I aim to teach in an energetic and creative manner, drawing on my personal interests in Art, Literature, and Geography.
